Providing Solutions For A Peaceful Divorce
After the death of a spouse, divorce is one of the most difficult and stressful experiences people ever have to go through in their lives. What often goes unnoticed, however, is the impact the entire process has on the children. While the spouses may eventually be able to move on with their lives after a divorce, the scars left on the children can last a lifetime.
At Lana Panagoulia Law, PLLC, we advocate alternative dispute resolution (ADR) that minimizes conflict and spares children the trauma of seeing their parents embroiled in such a painful battle. We provide collaborative law and mediation services designed to help divorcing couples resolve their differences without the need for litigation.

Resolving Matters With Children In Mind
Mediation
Michigan divorce mediation lawyer Lana Panagoulia has helped many couples resolve even the most contentious disputes. In mediation, attorney Lana Panagoulia serves as a neutral third party. She does not represent either spouse. Her only purpose is to help the spouses through the process of negotiating a mediation agreement that they both can support. Once all disputes have been resolved, attorney Lana Panagoulia will prepare a mediation agreement and any other required documents.
Collaborative Law
In a collaborative law setting, both spouses and their attorneys sign a participation agreement stating their commitment to reaching an equitable and fair agreement without the need for litigation. Under the collaborative participation agreement, both attorneys agree not to appear in court. All four participants sit down together and work through all issues until no disputes remain. If the matter is not resolved through collaborative law, the attorneys for both parties must withdraw from representing the parties.
Parenting Time Coordinators
Parenting time coordinators specialize in helping divorcing parents resolve custody disputes. They work much in the same way as mediators but they only handle issues involving the children. Utilizing a parenting time coordinator allows both parents to maintain control over the outcome since they are making the decisions and not the court.
